Fundraising

SpreeShop's fundraising feature lets you attach a dollar goal to any storefront and track progress in real time. A live progress bar on the storefront motivates customers to purchase.

Enabling Fundraising

Go to Admin → Fundraising or open a specific storefront and click Fundraising Settings. Toggle Enable Fundraising to on, then set:

  • Goal amount — The target fundraising amount in dollars.
  • Contribution per sale — Either a flat dollar amount per order, or a percentage of each order total. The contribution comes out of your margin — this is the portion you are donating to the cause.
  • Beneficiary name — Who the funds are going to (e.g., "Riverside High Band Booster Program"). Shown on the storefront progress bar.
  • Goal end date — Optional. When the campaign ends.

The Progress Bar

When fundraising is enabled, a progress bar appears at the top of the storefront showing the current amount raised vs. the goal, the beneficiary name, and the percentage complete. As new orders come in, the bar updates in real time.

Tip

The progress bar is a powerful conversion tool. In testing, storefronts with a fundraising goal active convert at 30% higher than those without one. Always show a realistic but achievable goal.

Tracking Contributions

The Fundraising dashboard shows total contributions raised, a chart of daily contributions over time, and a list of contributing orders. You can export the contribution data to CSV for reporting to the organization.

Paying Out the Funds

SpreeShop does not handle fund disbursement automatically. Contributions are tracked but paid through your normal Stripe payouts. You are responsible for sending the agreed-upon amount to the beneficiary organization separately. The contribution report gives you the exact amount to transfer.
